Prayer Walking is an adventure in intercession. It is stepping out on the streets in prayer with your eyes open to peoples’ needs and your ears open to the Spirit’s leading. It provides you with the opportunity to pray in your community as well as for your community. Any believer can Prayer Walk; any believer can unleash God’s power and purpose in a community through Prayer Walking.
This section of S.A.S training is designed to help you understand and practice Prayer Walking. These materials are offered to help you hit the streets with prayer and experience this adventure in intercession.
Prayer Walking is moving your prayer closet or prayer meeting outside the four walls of a building.
Many times, our prayers wobble between trivial matters of our own selfishness and topics of remote interest. However, Prayer Walking focuses believers on the real needs, the real hurts, and the real concerns of their community. As believers Prayer Walk, God gives them a heart for people and their needs. It enables believers to intercede with power for people in their cities and communities.
Prayer Walking is defined as “praying on-site with insight.” It is an active strategy that calls Christians to identify targeted places and then physically move about those premises to cover them in prayer.
It is praying in the places that you long for God to work. It is moving outside the four walls of the church and praying on city streets or roads for the people and places around you. When you go on the scene, different sights, smells, and sounds will prompt you to pray in ways that you would probably never think of if you were to pray from a remote location.
Prayer Walking is just what it sounds like it would be: praying while walking. Since there are different kinds of walks and different kinds of prayer, we need to have a sharpened, narrow definition of Prayer Walking. As defined earlier, it is praying on-site with insight. This definition reveals that there are three distinct parts to Prayer Walking. These three elements are necessary to carrying out a successful and powerful Prayer Walk.
The first part of Prayer Walking is prayer
It is intercession for people and their needs. While you walk, you call on God to work in and bless the people of a street, a road, a community, or a city. It is the deliberate activity of interceding for others as one walks by their homes or businesses. In Prayer Walking, a believer focuses on people and their cities or communities with a specific plan of intercession. The believer calls on God to bless, to save, to change, and to use the people who live in the houses or work in the businesses. Prayer Walking is not occasionally beaming bundles of religious sentimentality toward people. It is directed and focused intercession. This is the strength of Prayer Walking. It is quality intercession for people. The best praying is always done on purpose and not as casual happenstance. Quality intercession is not incidental; it is intentional!
Prayer Walking is on-site prayer. It is simply praying in the very places where you expect your prayers to be answered. It is praying in the places where you long to see God work. One can pray as he or she walks by a building or house. There can be exceptions to this. One can routinely break from walking to take a deliberate stance at special spots or station oneself at elevated viewpoints. This is for the purpose of intentionally praying for a place and the people who are there. Whether walking or stationed at a place, you are praying at the place where you desire and long for God to work and to pour out His abundant blessings. It is going to the place and praying where you hunger for God to send His power and His blessings.
Finally, Prayer Walking is praying on-site with insight. You can receive this insight in a variety of ways.
One way is responsive insight.
This is the insight that you receive as you look at and observe the people and the surroundings. When people Prayer Walk, they do it with their eyes wide open. By seeing the people, their homes, and their businesses, it floods their prayers with significance. The ordinary powers of observation yield tremendous insights about the best focus in prayer. These insights will refine their prayers and will give a more powerful and sharper focus to their prayers.
By having this more powerful and sharper focus in prayer, it will lead to more fervent intercession.
The insight of the Prayer Walkers may be researched insight. Before going on a Prayer Walk, believers can do research about their community or city. They can therefore understand the problems of the area and the hindrances to the gospel in this area. By doing this, they can develop a prayer strategy that will address these problems and these hindrances. This will allow them the opportunity to pray for solutions and for the removal of any obstacle to the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ Insight on how to pray can be given to the Prayer Walk as he or she prays through the Scripture.
Another way that you receive insight during a Prayer Walk is revealed insight. The Holy Spirit will reveal specific needs and concerns to pray over during your prayer walking. Because of this, it is crucial that the Prayer Walk pray the Scripture as he or she walks. This is due to the person and the work of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth of Scripture and who enables the believer to pray. As a believer prays the Scripture, the Holy Spirit will grant specific guidance in how to pray for individuals and cities or communities. As a believer saturates his life and prayers with the Word of God, the Holy Spirit can and does grant specific promptings to pray for a city or community and its individuals. Praying the Word of God opens your ears to listen to the prayer guidance of the Holy Spirit. This will enable the prayer walker to pray more specifically and more intensely.
The insights gained through Prayer Walking can lead to powerful intercession for a city or a community and its people. These insights will enable the believer to seek God to deal with the problems and the barriers to the gospel so that God can be glorified by the advancement of His kingdom and the transformation of lives in cities and communities. These insights blend together to fortify prayer with a starkly relevant authenticity. It is no longer prayer as usual. This up-close and personal prayer becomes an adventure, and it brings down satanic kingdoms and principalities.
I will be feeding you with more Prayer Walking strategies and study as we continue. So here are the first two prayer guidelines for this week. Remember, pray the Word of God. Many believers say they don’t know what to pray let alone how to pray. If you prepare and let the Holy Spirit to lead you, you will find plenty to pray for. Go through the prayer points and guidelines and be inspired.
The ABC’s The following is a prayer guide designed to help you pray for the salvation and spiritual maturity of people in the area that you Prayer Walk. This prayer guide will enable you to pray for the salvation of sinners and then their growth and maturity in the faith. It is actually praying that the evangelized will become evangelists.Admit their sin and guilt before God.Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and surrender to Him.Confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives both publicly and privately.Delivered from sin and the power of Satan.Experience the assurance and joy of their salvation.Faithful and active in a local church.Grow and mature in the Christian faith.Hear and heed the Word of God.Scriptural prayers to speak out as you are walking
• Lord God, I ask in the name of Jesus that You would draw the people here into a personal relationship with Your Son Jesus (John 6:44)
• Father, I plead in the name of Jesus that You would grant the people here a hunger and a thirst for You and Your Word (Psalm 42:1-2).
• Father, I pray that You would meet the emotional needs of the people in this place. Heal their emotional wounds (James 1:17; Psalm 147:3).
• Father, I ask You to give physical strength to the people here. Meet all their physical needs (Matthew 7:7).
• Lord God, I plead that You would bind the evil one and the demons assigned to this area. Render them ineffective in their evil plans (Mark 1:23-26).
• Father, I plead that Your Spirit would encourage and strengthen the believers in this area (Acts 13:52).
• Father, I ask that You open doors for the gospel in this area. I pray that many would hear and receive Jesus (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2).
• Father, I pray that You would remove any racial or social barriers between the people of this area (Acts 10:34).
• Father, I plead that this place will be filled with the knowledge of Your glory. As the waters cover the sea, let the knowledge of You cover this place (Habakkuk 2:14).
• Father, I ask that You would bless the pastors of this area. Grant them power, insight, and protection as they minister (1 Timothy 3:1-7).
• Father, I plead that You would fill the believers here with the Spirit and enable them to witness concerning Your Son Jesus (Acts 1:8).
• Father, I pray that justice would prevail, and that crime would be annihilated in this area (Psalm 82:3; Romans 13:4).
• Father, I ask that You would destroy the poverty of this area. Grant economic growth and meet the financial needs of people (Ecclesiastes 2:24).
• Father, I plead that Your Spirit would do a powerful work in the families of this area. Strengthen and bless every family (Ephesians 5:22-6:4).

• Lord Jesus, I ask You to give the weary and the burdened of this area Your rest. Grant your hope and joy to them (Matthew 11-28-30).

As we begin our campaign, I have a prophetic word from God for you. While seeking God about the contents of this Warfare Prayer campaign, God dropped the following words in my heart:“There shall be no loss, I will give increase.”That is what the Spirit of God wants me to tell you first.Yes, I know. We live in exacting times. There are problems everywhere. Recently, it’s Kabul and Afghanistan and the atrocities against Christians around the world. The other day it was Haiti’s earthquake. Last week, it was Greece’s fire. Hurricane Ida in Louisiana etc. etc. Everywhere you turn to, problems. And in the midst of these disasters there are thousands upon thousands of people suffering and dying for Christ.Everywhere you turn today, you can sense the spirit of fear. An appropriate movie title for our today’s world would be “NOWHERE IS SAFE.”Unfortunately, if you truly pray to try to understand what is happening, you will know that the world we once knew only just two years ago, even with its illusion of freedom, peace, stability and a future for our children, is not going to return to the way it was, ever.Why? Jesus said, “The world will be full of troubles.” (John 16:33).The Devil, the prince of this world has no peace to give. He wants to not only rob you of your peace but also destroy your very soul. And sadly, too, man has no peace to give. No matter who is King, Prime minister or President, we’re going to have problems in the world.Thankfully, in the same place where our Lord and Saviour told us we would see so many kinds of problems in the world, He also told us, “Be of good cheer,” “Don’t be afraid,” “Be courageous.” Be overcomers so we can feel safe and secure in His arms.And in many other places, He also tells us He will protect us from the evil one. He has defeated Satan and won the victory over darkness on our behalf.This is my message and prayer for you today.Yes, the problems in the world are real. Prayer Against Stubborn Demons And Strongholds
This coupled with fasting and deliverance will bring breakthrough (Matt.17:21)
In the name of My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I bind, rebuke, and cast out every stubborn demon that would attempt to stubbornly hold on to my life in the name of Jesus. I come against every stubborn stronghold, and command it to yield to the power of God and
the name of Jesus (2 Sam.5:7). I put pressure on every stubborn demon and stronghold and break it’s grip in my life, my family, my city and my country Australia in the name of Jesus.
On behalf of myself, my family, my neighbours, my government and my country, I uproot every stubborn root in the name of Jesus (Matt.15:13). I command every stubborn, ironlike yoke to shatter and break in the name of Jesus (Judg.1:19). I break the power of every proud, stubborn and arrogant demon that exalt itself against Christ, and command it to be abased in the name of Jesus. I break the power of all iniquity that would stubbornly attempt to control our lives in the name of Jesus. I stand in the gap and I come against all obstinate demons, and break their influence in the name of Jesus. I rebuke all stubborn, habitual patterns of failure and frustration in the name of Jesus. I rebuke all stubborn Pharaohs that would attempt to hold God’s people and I command you to let God’s people go in the name of Jesus (Exod.8:32).

I weaken, break down, and pressure every stubborn demon and stronghold, you are getting weaker and weaker, and I am getting stronger and stronger, I exercise long war against you, until you are completely defeated and destroyed from my life and my family in the name of Jesus (2 Sam.3:1). I lay siege against every stubborn stronghold through prayer and fasting, until your walls come down in the name of Jesus (Deut.20:19). I use the battering ram of prayer and fasting to demolish all the gates of every stubborn stronghold in the name of Jesus. Let every Jericho wall fall through my praise, as I lift my voice as a trumpet against you in the name of Jesus (Joshua 6:1, 20). Let every demonic stump be removed from my life in the name of Jesus. I break the will of every stubborn spirit that would attempt to remain in my life or hinder my prayers in the name of Jesus, you have no will to remain, your will is broken, and you must submit to the name of Jesus and the power of the Holy
Ghost.
I come against all stubborn demons and strongholds in my family that have refused to leave, and I assault every demonic fortress that has been built for generations in the name of Jesus. I rebuke every stubborn mule, and bull of Bashan from my life in the name of Jesus, I break your will against me in the name of Jesus, you are defeated and must bow to the name above all names (Psa.22:12).
I decree that the anointing is increasing in my life through prayer and fasting, and
every stubborn yoke is being destroyed (Isa.10:27).
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

This is perhaps the single most important question that is asked concerning the deliverance ministry. Let me first say that it is Satan’s #1 Agenda to keep demons from being cast out. He is a deceiver and the father of all lies.
We live in a world where there are two kingdoms.
One is the satanic kingdom of darkness and of lies. The other the kingdom of light, love, and truth .. the Kingdom of God.
Those who live in sin are being controlled by a satanic power that rules that kingdom.Though they might be considered moral, pay their bills, and choose a decent lifestyle, they are living in the kingdom of darkness that is opposed to the Kingdom of God.
Our experience of over 20 years has certainly shown that yes, Christians can be demonized and often very seriously afflicted.
Is Deliverance only for believers?
The truth is that if we went about casting demons out of non-believers, then we would be ignoring some especially important things that Jesus had to say about the deliverance ministry.
Consider these passages in scripture:
But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. — Matthew 15:26
In the above verse, Jesus was speaking with a woman outside covenant with God, concerning casting a demon out of her daughter. Jesus made it very clear that this ministry was not intended for those outside covenant with God.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. — Matthew 12:43-45
In the above passage, Jesus was making it very clear that not only are we to keep our temple filled with things of God post deliverance, but also if we cast a demon out of somebody who rejects Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then we are setting that person up for a disaster.
It is imperative that we recognize Satan to be a defeated foe. Our Savior Jesus Christ defeated Satan through His death at the cross at Calvary, but he is not bound up, he is still a terrible foe and still free to roam this earth. He is also a legalist, he has to work within the boundaries set by God.
If we sin, we open the door to attack and he has a legal right to oppress us. But we have the authority in the name of Christ Jesus to evict him and his minions. They may trespass, but when we are ready to take the initiative through renunciation, repentance and confession, Jesus who is Merciful and Just forgives all sin. Then we can give the devil notice and they must leave.
