Checking your Heart Position

Establishing the heart position of an overcoming Christian is an active act of free-will. Many people’s walks are stymied, and they are left without emotional and physical healing because they do not understand this through revelation.

Let’s take forgiveness as an example.
We are commanded to forgive people who have trespassed against us. Many people can’t get past this, and they remain under cursing, demonically oppressed and unhealed. They think that they need to have an emotional catharsis before they can forgive. They use their emotions as their rudder, and the oppression brings in additional intransigence.

The Spiritual mechanics of “Forgiveness” work the other way around.

If we chose through our free-will to have a heart position that says, “I obey Father God, therefore, I forgive XYZ, in obedience to Father God”, and then stand in that obedience to Father God. This will release healing and wholeness, as Father God can perform miracles in a heart maintained in that heart position.  As soon as we allow our obedience to Father God become greater than the ‘mountain of unforgiveness’, we have the correct Heart position.

This is a Spiritual Battle

We are helpless against Satan if we use natural weapons or our thoughts but, if in all confrontations we use God’s Word as the leveler, we win!

 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ― For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Destroying you old nature

This is where your discipline comes into play. There are 3 steps to putting on the active Mind of Christ

Firstly,  Bible study, and putting the Biblical information into practice, daily.

Secondly, by using God’s provision of deliverance from demon bondage.

Ephesians 4:22-32 ―  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Thirdly,  You must remain well grounded in the Gospel

Colossians 1:21 ― And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

You will learn to control the use of your thoughts

2 Corinthians 10:5 ―  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Philippians 4:7 ― And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Some practical, tactical ‘how-to’s

While you are getting revelation from the scripture and the Holy Spirit is helping you get a handle on your Christian walk, here are some Practical solutions to help you day by day, (and on some days, minute by minute).

Remember that  Faith, Believe and Appropriate are all verbs, so take action.

Washing Machine Mind

If he can get you thinking in never-ending loops, and reliving past events, he will. Satan throws fiery darts and he throws them at the back of your head.

1. Catch that thought  (Firey dart).

2. Then say over the top of it “I put the Blood of My Lord Jesus Christ over that thought”

3. Then Declare “Mind Binding Spirits, I tell you to Shut up and Go, Now, in My Lord Jesus Christ’s Name”

Don’t let Satan rob you! Believe that Lord Jesus Christ’s name never returns void.  You will be surprised at how rapidly you can reclaim your mind and thoughts by using Lord Jesus Christ’s Name.  Walk in the obedience to Father God, that He has given you a sound mind.

Put on the Full Armour of God

This means saying out aloud, declaring, and doing it (meaning the actions get into it!)

I am shod in the gospel of peace

I have the belt of truth around my waist

I have on the breastplate of righteousness on

I pick up the shield of faith in my left hand

I have the sword of the Spirit of God in My right hand

And, I have on the Helmet of Salvation

I belong to Lord Jesus Christ and I have His precious Blood of protection over me

  • put it on in the shower in the morning,
  • put it on when you are walking to the train
  • put it on while you are sitting on the loo
  • put it on while you are driving
  • keep pitting it on

Declare that in Jesus Christ’s Name.

I have the Shield of Faith – to fight off the fiery darts of the enemy

I have the Helmet of Salvation – which stops Satan’s fiery darts from getting through to My Mind of Christ Jesus.

Take Communion

Communion isn’t just the reserve of Sunday church meetings.  Have some Grape juice in the fridge and crackers in the cupboard, and reflect on 1 Corinthians 23 – 27.  And then Praise the Lord God Almighty – regardless of your circumstances!

Nehemiah 9:5-6
Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.  You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. – Amen!
