Sins of the Fathers
In the same way that Satan has many millions of Christians believing that he and his demonic hoards don’t exist, so he has managed to refute the “Sins of the Fathers” as irrelevant in this New Covenant era. In this section, we have put the record straight. We provide this information to enable you to be set free in Jesus Christ’s mighty name!
It is important to read these Commandments, Laws, Judgements, and Statutes in the light of the legal right that Satan has to maintain his control in our lives, and indeed in the lives of the Israelites to whom we are looking for a pattern and example. Once you put aside the modern-day ‘ethic and moral sensibilities’ and remember and understand that Father God wants to keep us safe and insulated from Satan, then, ALL of His Commandments, Laws, Judgements, and Statutes make sense, and make sense for today.
Keeping the Covenant— Fruit of His Blessings
Hosea 4:6 — My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
But that's all over now ... Oh no it's not!
Many people reject the concept of ancestral sin and teach that “sons [shall not] be put to death for their fathers.”
This suggests that there is an evolution in the development of Father God’s will in Word and does not fit the truth in the texts, and context is everything!
We know Jesus Christ is The Word of God made flesh and that
Hebrews 13:8 — Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Unfortunately, this error is symptomatic of the “saved by grace and grace alone” doctrine is taken out of context and reduced to a platitude. Let’s take a look at the scripture and drill down on the subject.
Exodus 20:5-6 — Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exodus 34:6-7 — And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
Numbers 14:18 — The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
Identifies Father God “visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children,” and it would seem that the later parts of the Old Testament,
Jeremiah 31:29 — In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
Ezekiel 18:2 — What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?
Job 21:19 — God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
There are three problems with this view
In the same Biblical books, you get both parties being cursed. For example,
Deuteronomy 5:9-10 — I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing loving kindness to thousands [of generations, see 7:9], to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”
But, it says in
Deuteronomy 24:16 — Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.
and,
Jeremiah 32:17-18 — Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts, is his name,
Jeremiah 31:29 — In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
Both perspectives are in the same book
Not only that, there are texts that describe God’s punishment as owing to BOTH the sins of the fathers AND the sins of the children. For example, in
Isaiah 65:6-7 — … I will even repay into their bosom, both their own iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together.” (See also Leviticus 26:39 and Jeremiah 16:10-12.)
Even in the early texts that describe the visitation of the fathers’ sins on the children, the children are described as those who are opposed to God and therefore deserving of punishment, and those who continue the heritage of blessing as covenant keepers. For example,
Exodus 20:5-6 — I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands [of generations], to those who love Me and keep My commandments” (see also Deuteronomy 5:9-10; 7:9).
And
Psalm 103:17-18 — But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep His covenant and remember His precepts to do them.
Context is everything
Where the Scripture says that there is no generational consequence of iniquity, for example
Deuteronomy 24:16 — Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.
is dealing with legal matters as the context Deuteronomy 24:6-19 shows.
Ezekiel 18:20 — The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Is the same scenario, they are both detailing the legal aspects of the Jewish legal and court system.
Consequences of breaking the Lord’s Covenant
There is a concept of “Federal Headship” in both the Old and New Testaments. Fathers are imbued by Father God with the transfer of His divine covering of protection and blessing for their families. When a Father sins, there is a hole that is punched in that covering, the covering leaks like a leaky umbrella and because the fathers have failed to be faithful, and obedient and maintained the Covenant with Father God the descendants are affected. There are two kinds of effects of fathers’ sins in the lives of children,
- rebellion against God;
- the calamities of judgment that God brings on the children.
The visitation of the fathers’ sins on the children is not simplistically a punishment of innocent children for what the fathers did. The children themselves are always thought of as sinful and rebellious as the fathers’ sin is worked out in their lives. We are not told how this rebellious condition is passed to or “visited on” the children. God has the right to punish fathers in the calamities that come upon their children, as
Jeremiah 16:10-11 — For what reason has the LORD declared all this great calamity against us?.. It is because your forefathers have forsaken Me”,
but he chooses to do this in a way that justly correlates with the children’s own guilt.
Hope is available
None of this should make anyone feel trapped and without hope because of his parents’ sins.
Ezekiel 33:14-15 — When I say to the wicked, “You will surely die,” and he turns from his sin and practices justice and righteousness . . . he shall surely live; he shall not die.
The blood of Jesus conquers all sin and judgment for those who believe on Him.
You can pray in vicarious intercession to turn your unbelieving or backslidden loved ones back to Father God. Find prayer here→
This articulates the need for Repentance, and the Repentance and Renunciation of the Sin as the current generation comes to know and understand scripture by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
The promises are for them and afar off.
Amen!
Legal mechanism — Treaty or a Covenant
The formalisation of a Treaty or a Covenant is transacted with Rites and Rituals. A treaty agreement is often marked on the location of the treaty being agreed. Today, the signing of Covenants are signed with expensive pens and are often televised and broadcast with much pomp and ceremony.
Father God’s Spiritual and subsequently, Physical Covenants include epic signs. For example,
The Rainbow
Genesis 9:11-17 — And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
Sacrifice
A sacrifice or ritual slaughter is a fundamental
This included the cutting up of an animal in sacrifice also informed the biblical terminology “to cut” a covenant, rather than to “establish” or “set up”. Cutting was the
Genesis 9:11 — And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Genesis 17:14 — And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
Joshua 4:7 — Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
Jeremiah 34:18 — And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,
Zechariah 11:10 — And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.
The Abrahamic covenant is a case in point
Genesis 15:7-11,17-18 —Then he said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out from Ur of the Kaldeans to assign this land to you as a possession.” And he said, “O Lord God, how shall I know that I am to possess it?” He answered, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old she-goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young bird.” He answered, “Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old she-goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young bird.” He brought Him all these and cut them in two, placing each half opposite the other; but he did not cut up the bird. 11 Birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away…
When the sun set and it was very dark, there appeared a smoking oven, and a flaming torch which passed between those pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram.
The animals are cut in two, a flaming torch passes between the two parts of the animals in both a physical act and a symbolic ceremony.
Jeremiah 34:18-19 I will make the men who violated My covenant, who did not fulfill the terms of the covenant which they made before Me, like the calf which they cut in two so as to pass between the halves: The officers of Judah and Jerusalem, the officials, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the halves of the calf. shall be
Father God rebukes the men who violated his covenant, recalling when they had passed between the two halves of a sacrificed calf, and threatening that he will make these men like that calf.
In the sacrifice, specific items are broken or cut and then burnt (erased).
The Covenant with Israel identifies that as a consequence of breaking the Covenant, will be that they are broken, cut and erased.
These
Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim
The people of Israel and the strangers with them engaged in a led by Moses and the Elders of Israel. They spoke Oaths of Obedience after crossing over the River Jordan. They went into the Promised Land through the valley that is created by Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim. It was there that Father God made a Covenant. with them. The Covenant stands today and into the future. The oaths provided through the Israelites freewill would enable either Blessing or, conversely Curse them.
Deuteronomy 29:1-4 — These are the words of the covenant, which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb. And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
The taking of the oath took place on Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim, which form a valley leading to Sichem (Shechem). This was the land promised to Abraham by Father God, and the initial stop by the great tree of Moreh (the Root of Bitterness), on his journey into Canaan.
Genesis 12:1-7 — Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; an d thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.
When you stand on the plain between these two mountains, looking to the east (which is the scriptural metaphor for moving forwards), Mount Ebel is on the left to the north, Mount Gerizim is on the right, to the south, signifying that Mount Gerizim was on the right or righteous path and Mount Ebel on the left leads to destruction.
Jeremiah 1:14 — Out of the north evil shall break forth.
Mount Gerizim is 70m higher at the summit than Mount Ebel and although there is little difference in the climate and little rainfall in the area, there were ten springs and five aquifers that feed into the fertile plains around Mount Gerizim. Jacob’s Well, where John 4:5-6 describes Jesus’ meeting with the woman of Samaria, is also located at Shechem.
Mount Gerizim is the lush, green Mount of Blessing and Mount Ebel is arid, dusty and barren, and is the Mount of cursing.
Deuteronomy 27:9-10 — And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
On Mount Ebel, they were to build an altar for Father God of whole uncut stones. They were to offer peace offerings, there and eat there, and rejoice before Father God. (Deuteronomy 27:5)
Great plastered stones were to be set up with…
Deuteronomy 27:8 — And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
The tribes of Israel were then divided into two groups of approximately the same number of people. Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph
The Stones were written ‘plainly’ so no one could claim that they could not read or understand their meaning. Then the following Curses were spoken by the Levitical Priests and the Israelites were to respond confirming their agreement as an Oath of Agreement with each Law.
Covenant Promises
Deuteronomy 27:15 — Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
17 Cursed be he that removeth his
18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.
19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife;
21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.
22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.
24 Cursed be he that smiteth his
25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.
26 Cursed be he that confirmeth
This identified the actions that Father God identified as personal sin, and that a cursing would be the consequence of the sin.
Structure of the Blessings
Deuteronomy 28:2-14 — declares that Israel would experience blessings in three areas if they would “keep the commandments of the Lord … and walk in His ways”
- Military success and security, leading to National financial prosperity
- Prosperity in farming, and their family life
- They would become a testimony to “all people of the earth”
Blessings for keeping His Covenant
In Deuteronomy 28:1-14 —the Blessings and benevolence that Father God will provide are declared in all of His in this glorious passage of scripture, and what’s more, they remain His blessings of the Spirit-filled Christians today.
Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Amen!
Grafted into the true vine
Jesus Christ is the true vine
John 15:8-1 — I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a manabide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
He came for the redemption and reconciliation to father God of the Jews. But they rejected Him. So, the Promises of Father God were made available to the Gentiles.
Romans 11:17-25 — And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
But, regardless of the nationality or religious heritage since the original day of Pentecost, this promise is to those that are born again, the Spirit-filled.
John 3:5 — Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
All of the Covenant Blessings provided by Father God are available to from that point. The Cursings which are carried out by Satan, because of his legal right through our free will disobedience to Father God, we are able to be cut off through the Appropriation of the freedom from them, by our Authority in Christ Jesus.
Breaking the Covenant— Consequences of His Curses
Father God provides 11 verses of Blessings.
He then declares explicitly, the circumstances of the curses, 48 verses of Curses, warning them of their potential fate.
“Hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God”, and “Diligently obey” are the two primary commands of Father God. He gives us this direction because He loves us. He knows that if we do not Harken and Obey, then Satan has the legal grounds to inflict us with the antithesis of the Blessings.
This information is concerned with the consequences of betrayal of Father God and the reneging

The word harken means much more than listen. It is not a passive verb. When used as a direction, it is a call to action that needs you to engage your brain and take notice. So, we can gather from the command to Israel to “Hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God” and“Diligently obey”, it means to take it into your being and let it resonate and become part of you and then Do It, Obediently!
“commandments and his statutes” these are both the moral commandments and the ceremonial and administrative system,(i.e. the laws, statutes, and judgments given to Moses in Leviticus 26, and administered by the

Verses 16 to 18 mirror the Blessings, but as Curses
Verses 19 curses the transition of time throughout the day. no aspect of their life will be spared, But more IMPORTANTLY the “entering into” Worship of father God would be curse and they would “go out” cursed and unheard
They are structured as Curses of Futility
The curses identify maximum effort but minimal gain, the all-encompassing nature of the curses. It doesn’t matter where they are or what they do, they will fail in all things, as they are failing in the things of Father God.
Parallels with the blessing in 3 John2, which speaks to prosperity of the soul
3 John 2:1— Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Structure of the Cursing — Verses 20-68
From verses 20-68 there are three groups of punishment,

They are all Curses of Futility and they were all compounded by the concept of Federal Headship (Fathers are imbued by Father God with the transfer of His divine covering of protection and blessing for their families.)
Destruction

Today, the Ashkenazi Jews, have been found to have several genetic disorders that, are unique to their racial group.
Sephardic, Mizrahi Jews (Oriental Jews, the remnant of the Babylonian Jews, Asian, and Indian Jews) and the Maghrebi Jews (Yemen) or Maghrib Jews (North African) also have genetic diseases which are specific to their ethnic county of origin.
Ashkenazi Jews have been well-studied because of the financial resources available to them, and their urban lifestyle which is closer to research hospitals and centers. As of 2014, 10 million Ashkenazi Jews descend from a population of only 350 individuals who lived about 600–800 years ago. This population is derived from both Europe and the Middle East.
This group has been particularly intensively studied, so many mutations have been identified as common in Ashkenazis.
For example, two different mutations in the glucocerebrosidase gene cause Gaucher’s disease in Ashkenazis, (which is their most common genetic disease), but only one of these mutations is found in non-Jewish groups. The gene mutation is found in one in every 15 Ashkenazi Jews, compared to one in 100 of the general American population
A few diseases are unique to this group; for example, familial dysautonomia is almost unknown in other populations.
Ashkenazi Jews are also highly affected by Lipid transport diseases, which eradicate harmful
