Holy Spirit
It is interesting to note in 1Corinthians 13:1-2, that a baptised in the Holy Spirit believer is relatively ineffective in Christian service until the fullness of the Agapa Love of Father God has been received.
The Agape Love of Father God
When the Father God fills us with His Holy Spirit, we are spiritually reborn and reconnected back to Him by His Holy Spirit. Our spirit is regenerated.
Ephesians 2:1 — And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
This is the start of the believers disciplined walk in the power and authority of Christ Jesus. We must ‘press towards the mark’ and appropriate their calling through this supernatural Holy Spirit power.
Philippians 3:14 — I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
On Easter Sunday each year, we remember the Agape Love of the Father God in final stages of the Old Will and Testament. Then in, 40 days time, on Pentecost Sunday, the New Will and Testament is remembered, and the Glory of the Lord Jesus’ work in this new dispensation comes into full focus. Praise his Glorious Name – Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Through the infilling of the Holy Spirit, Father God’s Agape Love lives in us.
However, it is interesting to note in 1Corinthians 13:1-2 that a baptised in the Holy Spirit believer is relatively ineffective in Christian service until the fullness of Father God’s Agape, unconditional love has been fully received and the spirits of conditional love are dealt with.
1Corinthians 13, gives us clues to the specific hindering spirits and in a believer.
1 Corinthians 13 :1-3
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
This is yet another confirmation of the correct scriptural order in Mark 16 of casting out the demons first before a blossoming of speaking in tongues and moving into gifts, prior to taking on the fullness of ministry, is vital.
We have discovered in deliverance work that many believers are restricted or bound by demons from fully expressing or releasing outwardly the unconditional or Agape Love that abides in their regenerated spirit. Through accepting and agreeing with the thoughts and attitudes of the flesh, many have opened doors for unclean spirits, which reinforce and establish restrictions of the expression of unconditional Christ-love.
Deliverance examples
The key to the weapons cabinet in 1 Corinthians 13 is to simply identify the antonyms for the various features and characteristics which are listed (a dictionary and thesaurus would be helpful), and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Here is a list of spirits to start with, which is by no means definitive.

Voice Gifts
Tongues
Glossolalia or speaking in tongues is one of the three voice Gifts of the 9 GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
This page deals with how the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit work, in the Practical application and speaking in tongues is pivotal.
Mark 16:17 — And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Acts 2:4 — And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 10:46 — For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
Acts 19:6 — And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
1 Corinthians 14:39 — Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Isaiah 28:11-12 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Each person’s tongue is different, and often starts in a mono-syballic and repetitive way, as a baby will when it starts to speak. Tongues is a language and over time as faith grows, and they use it more in their personal prayer life, “pouring their heart out”, their tongue will blossom into a fully fledged language with meter and nuance. Other people will have a tongue that is fully formed from day one.
The least of
Tongues is the Holy Spirit speaking both to and through us. It is called the “least” of the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit because it is the only one that we can stop and start at will.
We co-operate with the Holy Spirit for it to happen, – as with all of the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit, but for instance, the Gift of Healings only needs to happen when there is a Healing required.
An unknown tongue or Spiritual tongue is primarily for ‘edification’.
Self – edification
Self-edification is not a selfish pursuit. In fact far from it.
The more that you use tongues as your personal prayer language, the more you will personally be built up in the Holy Spirit. This is Praying in the Spirit, as opposed to praying with understanding. and praying with the tongues of Angels
This is acceptable both privately and in groups, and is the strongest form of prayer – it is perfect it eliminates any soulish aspects because it is the Holy Spirit praying on our behalf – interceding – and Satan has no idea what is being said.
When praying in the spirit in private prayer, the ‘interpretation’ is often provided by the Holy Spirit directly in your witnessing heart as you are using the Holy Spirit to pray.
Self-edification is imperative
Edification of one’s self is imperative, to maintain a Godly personal walk and because we need to be edified to overflowing – bubbling up – to be instant in and out of season in Ministry.
The self-edification builds up the GIFT of GREAT FAITH, which along with one of the GIFTS of Healings and Miracles is one of the 3 Power Gifts. By Edifying one’s self through the Holy Spirit, the GIFT of GREAT FAITH is increased.
Imperative because it is the conduit for the other gifts to manifest because we Minister out of the overflow.
Psalm 23:5—Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Paul is explaining to the Church at Corinth (in 1 Corinthians 14) how the Voice Gifts should be used, as by extension they were using them inappropriately, n a Church gathering.
Verse 22 — Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Paul explains 2 things.
Firstly, it is the ‘sign for the unbeliever’ that the Holy Spirit is in the person speaking – so by extension, it is ‘the initial sign’ that one is filled with the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit literally sounds His arrival with a trump!
The outward sign of the inward baptism has to have had a sign because the Disciples were able to identify that people had not received the Holy Spirit.
Acts 19:1-7 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve.
Secondly, the phenomena that you will experience in a public meeting where the 3 voice gifts of the Holy Spirit (Tongues, Interpretation, Prophecy) and their use in a Public meeting, Paul exhorts 2 or at the most 3 Tongues to be provided to the congregation followed each time by the Gift of Interpretation.
This is to edify the group with the Tongue and provide meaning (Interpretation) in the known language of the Group. He instructs to do things – decently and in order – which would suggest that there were Pentecostal excesses being participated in even then!
If you have not experienced this then find a fellowship where it is or encourage your church or home group to use the voice gifts in this manner. Much encouragement and healing can be spoken to us by Father God through these spiritual gifts.
There is also a Missionary aspect of speaking in tongues, where a word may be heard in a known language, which has never been learned by the speaker involved.
Acts 2:4-11 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
There are many instances where people have heard specific words from God in their native obscure dialect. They have been overwhelmed by these words and have either come to know Lord Jesus through this sign or have been provided with words of extreme comfort. Note that the emphasis n the scripture is on the heard!
Tongues of Devilish Angels
Of course, Satan has counterfeited this spiritual phenomenon in the same way as he has other gifts, and demonic tongues are a regular occurrence – you only have to hear someone spew vengeful hatred to realize that there is a demonic force mouthing off. But when the all-powerful Father God is asked to fill a believing child of his with the Holy Spirit,, He will lovingly baptise them – with the sign that He has identified as His sign. The devil at that point does not have the legal right to jump in ahead them and give them a counterfeit tongue first!
Discerning a demonic tongue is by the Holy Spirit, and it is quite evident when it manifests. The speaker will often have unclean emotional aspirations that come with it – especially in the case of, for example, an Amorite Spirit which comes with political and ‘grandiose’ affectation.

The 3 VOICE GIFTS are still in use today and are an essential part of Father God’s plan for our comfort.
If you have a reaction with regard to the above ministry which is negative, you may be subject to some spiritual oppression, not wanting you to become comfortable or even exercising them.

Interpretation
1 Corinthians 12:26-28 — How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Interpretation is one of the 3 voice Gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is used to provide meaning to a congregation, where the Gift of tounges is being used in its ceremonial capacity.
It is not a translation. It is the Holy Spirit witness, giving the precise recalling of what has been prayed to Father God, in the known earthly language of the group. It is to edify the group by giving them the
Likewise, often when speaking and praying in tongues to Father God during private prayer, the Holy Spirit will provide
Prophecy
The Words in the Old Testament are the prophetic Words of Lord Jesus Christ calling or speaking Himself into being. The Words in the New Testament that He spoke about the current Holy Spirit dispensation, His second coming, the final routing of Satan, the New Jerusalem and Eternal Life, have spoken them into being.
Acts 19:5-6 — When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
2 Peter 1:20-21 — Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Prophecy is a Voice Gift of the Holy Spirit.
In Proverbs 18:21 Father God
There is creative power in our words. We have to choose to align our use of the Gift of Prophecy with
If it is a true prophecy, it will be according to the Word of God, because the Spirit and the Word agree.
The Word was inspired by the Holy Spirit.
(“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost,” 2 Peter 1:21.)
The Holy Spirit is not going to tell you one thing in the Word and another thing through prophecy. If a prophecy doesn’t agree with the Word of God, it isn’t right.
If it’s the same Spirit, it’s going to agree with the Word.
The fact that a person would unknowingly listen to an evil spirit does not mean he is not a Christian or even that he is not
“Is it in line with the Word of God?” You can see how essential it is that we know the Word of God, for we cannot judge prophecy without a thorough knowledge of God’s Word.
Matthew 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 7:12 – Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Prophecy is for the warning, edification, learning and comfort of the group of hearers.
In Numbers 11:24-30, God took the Spirit of Prophecy on Moses and Placed it upon the 70 Elders of Israel.
In Samuel 10:10 the Spirit of Prophecy came upon Saul and he began to prophesy

Prophecy and the diligent use of it is a progression in Christian Maturity
Be careful who you listen to
The Church is warned against false prophets, false apostles, and false prophecies:
2 Corinthians 11:13 -15 – For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Not All Prophecies Are of God
Do the Prophecies Produce Liberty or Bondage
2 Corinthians 4:13 – We
Notice, first of all, the phrase “We having the same spirit of faith….” If something’s done in the same spirit of faith that we are in, it will produce liberty. If it’s not, it will produce bondage.
Many are led into bondage instead of into light and deliverance.
Father God does not want to bind people or hold them in bondage.
Father God is concerned about liberating people — setting them free. If people are of the same spirit, they’ll know it.
The “same spirit
Christians who are using Holy Spirit discernment can detect in their spirit if something’s not just right. There is confusion; a mixture of spirits.
When you discern this, turn away.
Romans 8: 13 – For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Discernment Gifts
Word of Knowledge
John 4:16-19 — Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
In the same way that Lord Jesus was given this Word of Knowledge by the Holy Spirit, so is this discernment gift avaliable today. It is often avaliable to be used when provinding ministry, as often, a fuller understanding of the issues or the sin position is required for effective ministry.
Similarly, when evangelising as He was, personal information is provided which is irrifutable in source by the person to whom it is told.
Pray for increase in this gift to support being used more effectivelly by Father God.
Word of Wisdom
Lord Jesus would often preach scripture, in fact, he used directly over 70 Old Testament references in His recorded preaching.
A word of Wisdom is the Holy Spirit providing a timely Word of Scripture, to be spoken or proclaimed during ministry or evangelising, preaching, proselytising or teaching. Although we become familiar with scripture as we study it – the Holy Spirit can and will provide you with passages of scripture “on the fly”.
In ministry situations, scripture is all powerful from unraveling Satan’s hold on people. It can manifest profound healing, release deliverance and profound comfort.
Remember, that the Holy Spirit was the inspiration or expiration — the breath that breathed the Word of God. He knows it and remembers it intimately with total recall. Pray earnestly for an increase in the Gift of Word of Wisdom, and ask for additional revelation for the understanding and use of The Word.
Wisdom and the Gift of Word of Wisdom are two separate things. pray for both and be doubly blessed and useful to Father God!
Discernment of Spirits
This is the insight through the Holy Spirit to discern the ‘spirit’ that is manifesting.
Discerning the Holy Spirit is the first Spirit that we should ask Father God to provide to us. If we can not discern the Holy Spirit and His direction – we need to cleave to Father God until we have
Some pointers, Satan’s words come through firey darts, straight into your head/mind. Will give you elliptical thoughts and a washing-machine-mind. Demonic thoughts are ‘driving’ often putting the onus for action on you, and asking what you are going to do about it. (see the posts about a Passive Mind, under the Resources menu)
In comparison, Father God say “Rest in Me”, “I will…”, “Trust in me …”
Discernment of Spirits
Dealing with malevolent spirits is part of the daily walk of a Spirit-filled Christian. Asking father God to reveal the spirits in us we need to be delivered of is part of the promise that He makes available to us. If we are malleable to the Holy Spirit we will be aware of spirits that we need to get rid of. If you have spiritual matters to deal with, this is a good place to start, Yielding My Heart to You Lord
Dealing with malevolent spirits that become visible to you when not in a ministry situation, is not an advisable habit to allow to become established. Any spiritual manifestation of this nature is an intrusion. The Lord declares that in Hebrews 2:5, that we are made a little lower than “
Power Gifts
Great Faith
Romans 10:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
BELIEVE, TRUST and FAITH are often misconstrued and mixed-up.
They are not interchangeable.
They are verbs, doing words.
We have to exercise them.
We develop FAITH (or, faith comes by) as a consequence of HEARING THE WORD.
If you want to increase your FAITH, then LISTEN to the WORD of GOD.
Literally, stick your earbuds in your ears and “Get some God into You!” by listening to the KJV in a faithful recording
Hebrew 11
The FAITH chapter is Hebrew 11, which starts
Hebrews 11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report…
BELIEVE means in Greek to Trust-in, Adhere-to, Rely-on and Obey.
Once we BELIEVE that Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth is our Saviour, and we have made a commitment (through Baptism in water) to follow Him, then we are called to be OBEDIENT, and receive the Holy Spirit.
Because our thoughts are not His thoughts, and our ways are not His ways (Isaiah 55:8) and we see through a glass darkly (1Corinthians 13:12), we have very little understanding of the spiritual mechanisms involved, therefore the only way that we can hope to get out from Satan’s oppression is by being OBEDIENT. Father God has laid out the path for us to navigate to make sure that we are always in His slipstream of blessing.
When we are OBEDIENT, the miraculous blessings can manifest, and as the miraculous instances increase, we develop TRUST.
The more that we TRUST, the more we can, trust in the fact that He responds and doesn’t let us down, and RELY on Him for everything.
The more that we are OBEDIENT, the more that Father God can provide for us.
Hearing the Word (which is Lord Jesus Christ), increases the Faith that we have for our own personal salvation and saving from Satan’s regime and designs for us and our lives.
The Gift of Great Faith is an anointing through the Holy Spirit, a greater depth of Faith, which is used as a conduit for the distribution of Holy Spirit power into another person.
It is Faith that that Father God gives us through our edification of ourselves, through praying in tongues in our private prayer time.
We are to minister out of the excess of our Faith.
The Gift of Great Faith is the excess.
Healings
The Gift of Healings and the healing Anointing is used in concert with the other Power Gifts, Discernment and Voice Gifts.
Ministered through the minister’s Gift of Great Faith, the Gift is used as the conduit for the power of the Holy Spirit to provide the restoration.
Healing is received by the degree of Faith. Hence, “faith to receive” the healing is less important in the transmission of the anointing – as the minister’s gift of Great Faith is the conduit and “stands in the Gap”. The speed of restoration and the permanency of the healing is governed by the degree of Faith of the recipient, and their sin position. Sin position means, does Satan have a legal right to bring infirmity, diseas and death into your life?
With this gift, the opportunity to be used by Father God is both in a formal ministry setting or on an ad-hoc basis for instance in a playground where a child is injured. This is why it is imperative that we are edified and continually bubbling up with the Holy Spirit through praying in tongues, to be ready to administer the Gift in a moment of prompting.
A Word of Knowledge can provide clues to the sin or cursing that is providing legal access to a spirit of infirmity. Holy Spirit can also provide specific information that needs to be spoken or actions that need to take place.
A Word of Knowledge can provide the scripture to be used as a sword providing the will of father God to the infirmity as either a blade or soothing balm.
Discernment of Spirits supports the casting out of demonic.
Some healing works hand in hand with deliverance, and some healings are the miraculous completion of the creation miracle. There is a wealth of information in the 4 books of the gospel, and we have endeavored to provide a comprehensive overview here→
Miracles
Miraculous Healing is not the only miracle in which that Father God moves.
The very fact that we are filled with His Holy Spirit is a mighty Miracle.
If you look at the scripture, you can find examples that are still in play today. From the direct material provision of food and shelter, to sending His Waring Angels to hold back certain destruction from road accident, bush-fire, disease, the judicial system.
Intercession through prayer is often being awoken at night to pray, “standing in the gap” with the Gift of Great Faith, to enable Father God to act on behalf of someone or a group of people in immediate need.
All of the old testament Prophets stood vicariously on behalf of Israel, and mighty miracles were done.
This is no less, today. We should expect Father God’s miracles, and we should count our miraculous blessings and be thank-full for them – daily!
The Fruit of the Holy Spirit
Fruit of the Holy Spirt
The 9 Fruit of the Holy Spirit manifests in, on and around individuals or groups of people who are living in accordance with the Word of Father God.
The Fruit of the Spirit is produced by the Holy Spirit, not by the person. The people around whom the Holy Spirit manifests do not necessarily need to be filled with or Baptised in the Holy Spirit for this to occur. As we cast off our “old man”, the Fruit of the Holy Spirit will become more apparent and more readily manifest in our lives, and we will imbue these attributes.
We are earthly vessels from which the Fruit of the
We are Fruit bearing
As Spirit-filled Christians, we are vessels that bring the Holy Spirit with us, ind in that sense we are called to be ‘Fruitful’, with the abundance of the fruit overflowing.
Galatians 5:22-23 — But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The Five-fold Ministry Gifts
Ministry Gifts
Ephesians 4:11 – And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Men are skilled up in ministry through the establishing of their Families. In fact, their families are the first Churches that they are provided with by Father God, i.e. the Church in their home.
A Church is established through Prophecy, by which the express will of Father God.
Then Apostles are raised-up to bring local people to the knowledge of the truth of Lord Jesus Christ, for Baptism in Water and the Holy Spirit. These people then become Evangelists with-in their immediate community through their Testimony and their operation of the Gifts of the holy Spirit – Miracles and healing and deliverance. Father God will likewise raise up Pastors and Teachers, and deacons for helps ministry to shepherd the Church.
Elders are not only older more seasoned members of the Church Community, but have evidence of Great Faith through the outworking of the Holy Spirit – as they are to be called on for Healing and the Miraculous, by members of the church and community that are poor in spirit.
The Word is specific about the hierarchical nature of Spiritual Authority, and women are not to be in a position of authority over, or to teach men. Women are to teach and pastor women and children.
However, the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit are ALL in ALL that have received the Holy Spirit baptism, there is no division in the administration of The Gifts.
