From Darkness to Destiny: One Woman's Journey Through Deliverance and Renewal

The Woman Who Came to Us

Sarah was 47 years old when she first reached out to Oracle Ministry. From the outside, she appeared to be functioning — a wife, a mother, a woman who had survived. But inside, something had never been right. Not since she was four years old.

Her presenting issue, as she described it, was simple: "I feel a presence at night when I am sleeping — I would like to get rid of this." But behind that single sentence lay nearly five decades of unprocessed trauma, unforgiveness, and spiritual oppression.

What the Assessment Revealed

When Sarah completed the Oracle Ministry Spiritual Profile Questionnaire (SPQ), the full weight of her story emerged. She had experienced severe and layered childhood trauma beginning at age four — confinement trauma, witnessing abuse within her own family, a profound father wound, and a deep-rooted sense of abandonment and rejection that had followed her into every relationship of her adult life.

The emotional profile was significant. Sarah had checked — honestly and courageously — nearly every marker of deep wounding: fear, anxiety, loneliness, depression, rage, worthlessness, grief, self-pity, and bitterness. She carried unforgiveness toward more than twenty people spanning her entire lifetime. Her core beliefs about herself were a catalogue of lies the enemy had constructed over decades:

Spiritually, she had not been baptised, had no church connection, and was uncertain of her own salvation. Yet she had goals that told a different story — she wanted to forgive her father and sister, remove the spiritual oppression from her sleep, and one day help others heal from trauma. There was a calling buried under all that wreckage, waiting to be unearthed.

The Deliverance Session

Sarah's face-to-face deliverance session was conducted in October 2025. It was methodical, compassionate, and thorough. Across the session, we worked through the breaking of soul ties and generational bondages; the renunciation of unforgiveness toward all twenty-two individuals on her list; the casting out of identified spirits — rejection, worthlessness, fear, a spirit spouse entity that had been responsible for the nightly disturbances, and familiar spirits operating through her generational line; and inner healing prayer over her childhood wounds, her father wound, and the abandonment trauma rooted at age four.

The immediate result was a profound sense of peace and lightness. The nightly presence she had endured for years was gone. The oppression that had sat on her chest was lifted.

The Testing — And Why She Passed

Four weeks after her deliverance session, Sarah wrote to us with concerns. There had been some return of night disturbances. The "not good enough" thoughts had crept back in. She asked the question that many people ask in this season: "Did I lose my freedom? Did the demons return?"

This is the critical moment in every post-deliverance journey. The enemy is not going to accept his defeat quietly. He tests the ground. He whispers that the deliverance did not work, that the freedom was temporary, that nothing has really changed. And the vast majority of people believe those whispers — and give up.

Sarah did not give up. She reached out. She stayed connected. She kept pressing into the RR&D pathway.

Together we worked through the discernment — distinguishing between the enemy testing her freedom and a genuine return of spiritual oppression — and built a tactical response protocol she could use in her own bedroom at 2am. She deployed the authority of Christ. The disturbances ceased.

The Transformation in Progress

Across the months that followed, something extraordinary began to unfold in Sarah's life. The RR&D Pathway gave her weekly structure — scripture, focus areas, action steps, declarations — and she worked it faithfully. The renewal of the mind that the Apostle Paul describes in Romans 12:2 was not a theological concept for her; it became a lived daily reality.

Her marriage strengthened. Her parenting grew more composed. Situations that would previously have triggered deep emotional spirals — confrontations, conflict, the kind of disorder that mimics the chaos of her childhood — she began to navigate with grace and measured authority. Where once she operated from a wound, she began to operate from a healed place.

She wrote to us about her son's behaviour during a neighbourhood dispute, and the way she had handled it — calmly, wisely, with a mother's quiet authority — was unrecognisable from the woman who had come to us twelve months earlier.

When God Began to Speak

As Sarah pressed deeper into the pathway — into forgiveness work, identity healing, and the renewing of her mind — something else began to happen. She began to receive.

In prayer, she had a vision of Jesus presenting her with a goblet. She drank. She then passed the goblet to many others — and heard clearly: "They need help too." The vision was not difficult to interpret. The cup she had drunk from in her own healing journey was now being commissioned for others. And the phrase "they need help too" was a prophetic enlargement — her calling would not be limited to victims alone, but would extend to the wounded who wound others.

And then, most recently, in the midst of working through the rejection and abandonment healing module of her pathway — going back to that four-year-old girl locked in terror and shame — Sarah invited Jesus to speak truth over every rejection experience of her life. What He spoke over her is one of the most beautiful pieces of inner healing testimony we have received in over twenty-six years of pastoral ministry.

She said she cried all the way through it. She also said she did not know what a sceptre was and had to look it up — which, as any seasoned minister will recognise, is one of the most compelling marks of an authentic prophetic word.

The Significance of the Sceptre

In biblical terms, a sceptre is the rod of royal authority — carried by a king and extended toward those he receives into his presence, grants favour to, or commissions to act on his behalf (Esther 4:11, 5:2; Psalm 45:6; Hebrews 1:8). When a king extended the sceptre, it meant: you are accepted, you are authorised, you carry my backing.

For Jesus to place the sceptre in Sarah's hands is a commissioning of royal identity and delegated Kingdom purpose. It speaks of three things:

A Closing Reflection — From the Pastor's Desk

I have been in pastoral ministry for over twenty-six years, and in deliverance ministry specifically for sixteen. I have walked alongside approximately two thousand individuals through this kind of deep spiritual and psychological restoration work. In that time, I have seen the full spectrum — those who taste freedom and quickly return to bondage, and those who press through with extraordinary courage and come out the other side unrecognisable from who they were when they first sat across from me.

Sarah is in the second category. What makes her story remarkable is not merely that she was delivered — it is that she did the work, she did her part. She faced every wound. She named every person who had hurt her and chose to forgive them. She showed up to every module of the pathway. She pushed through the testing season. She kept praying even when she didn't understand the visions she was receiving.

The theology of Romans 12:2 — "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" — is not a metaphor. The brain that was wired by trauma can be re-wired by truth. The identity that was formed at age four can be reformed in the presence of the living God. We have watched that happen, week by week, in this woman's life.

If you are reading this and you recognise something of your own story in Sarah's — the nighttime disturbances, the weight of unforgiveness, the deep suspicion that God abandoned you somewhere in your childhood — then know this: the same pathway is available to you. The same Jesus who gave Sarah the sceptre is reaching toward you right now.

But God was not finished.

Sarah has a sister — let us call her Rachel. The two of them had not had a meaningful relationship in years. The history between them, as anyone who has read Sarah's story this far will understand, was complicated and deeply painful. Rachel had carried her own wounds from the same household, and by Sarah's own assessment, had been more severely traumatised than Sarah herself. Rachel had major anger issues.

Several weeks ago, as Sarah was pressing through the later modules of her RR&D pathway, the Lord placed Rachel on her heart during a time of prayer. Not a vague impression — a clear, specific prompting to pick up the phone and call her interstate sister. Sarah hesitated. The relational history was heavy, the distance was real, and vulnerability with someone from that chapter of her life felt dangerous.

She built up her courage, prayed, and called — using a gentle, natural opening: that her son Peter would love to speak with his cousins.

The Holy Spirit had already been at work before the phone even rang. Rachel then unburdened herself — she was in considerable pain, felt that something was moving inside her causing fear and anxiety, and did not know where to turn. Sarah, wisely and with great sensitivity, shared something of her own deliverance journey — without unnecessary detail — and gently suggested that Rachel might benefit from speaking with her pastor in Melbourne. The conversation ended with Sarah praying for her sister and her family. A bridge that had been broken for years was crossed in a single phone call.

A Stranger in the Park

A few days later, Rachel rang back. Something extraordinary had happened.

She had gone for a walk in a nearby park. A woman she had met briefly a few days before approached her, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then said something that stopped Rachel cold: she said she was a Christian, that she sensed Rachel was going through a great deal of difficulty — and that she could see a spirit on her. She asked if she could pray for her.

In what Rachel described as a kind of daze, she agreed. The next moment, she was on her knees, sobbing profusely and manifesting. The deliverance happened right there in the park, through a complete stranger, sovereignly placed in Rachel's path at precisely the right moment. After it was cast out, the shoulder and back pain Rachel had felt for years was gone.

She had felt angry for as long as she could remember, since a young child — but for the first time, the anger was gone and she just felt peace.

The next day, her three-year-old daughter was throwing extreme tantrums. In one tantrum, her daughter was thrashing on the floor. Rachel spoke over her daughter saying, "This behaviour is not of God. I see you and I command you to leave her now in Jesus name." Her daughter immediately stopped and was still. This was miraculous.

Then after about three days, some anger started to return. Sarah sent her some prayers of protection and commands to use to cast the enemy out in Jesus name, when anger or fear or depression try to take hold.

This is not unusual. It is, in fact, entirely consistent with what Scripture warns us about and what we see regularly in this ministry. An initial deliverance — however genuine — does not on its own guarantee lasting freedom. The spirit has left, but the legal ground that gave it access has not yet been addressed. Without renunciation of sin, repentance, confession, and the deliberate closure of the doorways the enemy used to gain entry, there is nothing preventing a return.

And crucially — without the renewal of the mind beginning, the internal landscape remains a familiar habitat. The old thought patterns, the old identity lies, the old emotional reflexes are still there, waiting. The house has been swept clean, but it has not yet been filled.

We are praying that Rachel will be able to travel to Melbourne. Her journey is about to begin in earnest. And when it does, she will walk a pathway that her sister has already blazed — not alone, but in the company of Jesus who clearly had His hand on both of them long before either of them knew it.

The Faithfulness of God

Step back for a moment and consider the sweep of what has unfolded. A woman carrying trauma and spiritual oppression for over four decades. A life buried under layers of rejection, abandonment, and unforgiveness. A deliverance that broke chains. A pathway that rebuilt an identity. A sceptre placed in her hands by the Lord Jesus Himself.

And then — her healed life becoming the very bridge that reached her more-wounded sister. A stranger in a park, sovereignly positioned. A family reconnected. A second journey beginning.

This is what the renewal of the mind produces. Not just a healed individual — but a healed individual who becomes a vessel of healing for others. Sarah did not set out to reach her sister. She set out to pray. God did the rest.
